Barefoot In The Park
By Neil Simon
September 17, 18, 24, 25 & 30, October 1 & 2, 2004
After a six day honeymoon, Paul and Corie Bratter
are moving into their new apartment. It's a young couple's dream, except for a
few minor details...The apartment has absolutely no furniture or heat, the paint
job came out all wrong, the skylight leaks, the bedroom doesn't have room for a
double bed. And ....the apartment is at the top of five long, steep,
wheeze-inducing flights of stairs, if you don't count the front stoop. But that
doesn't seem to stop their neighbor, an outlandish gourmet who must use their
window ledge to sneak into his own loft apartment. Considered by many to be Neil
Simon's best comedy, BAREFOOT IN THE PARK is a hilarious saga of newlywed life
. Great characters and comedic writing by the " dean of American comic
playwrights" promise to make this a show you'll want to see! BACK

Pippin
By Stephen Schwartz
February 18, 19, 25, 26,
March 3, 4 &
5, 2005
Once upon a time, the young prince Pippin longed
to discover the secret of true happiness and fulfillment. He sought it in the
glories of the battlefield, the temptations of the flesh and the intrigues of
political power (after disposing of his father King Charlemagne the Great). In
the end, he found it in the simple pleasures of home and family.
This hip, tongue-in-cheek, anachronistic fairy tale captivated Broadway
audiences and continues to appeal to the young at heart everywhere (the show has
become a staple on high school and college campuses). The energetic
pop-influenced score by three-time Oscar®-winning composer/lyricist Stephen
Schwartz ("Godspell," "Children of Eden" and the animated films "Pocahontas,"
"The Hunchback Of Notre Dame" and "The Prince Of Egypt") bursts with one show
stopping number after another, from soaring ballads to infectious dance numbers.
Featuring a strong ensemble cast and a show-stealing song-and-dance narrator,
"Pippin" is equally effective as an intimate, black-box production (as
envisioned by the authors) or as original director/choreographer Bob Fosse's
splashy, dance-driven spectacle, which included some of the most brilliant
staging in Broadway history. BACK

Dark
By Frederick Knott
May 6, 7, 13, 14, 19, 20 & 21, 2005
A Broadway hit, this masterfully constructed
thriller moves from one moment of suspense to another as it builds toward an
electrifying, breath-stopping final scene.
THE STORY: A sinister con man, Roat, and
two ex-convicts, Mike and Carlino, are about to meet their match. They have
traced the location of a mysterious doll, which they are much interested in, to
the Greenwich Village apartment of Sam Hendrix and his blind wife, Susy. Sam had
apparently been persuaded by a strange woman to transport the doll across the
Canadian border, not knowing that sewn inside were several grams of heroin. When
the woman is murdered the situation becomes more urgent. The con man and his
ex-convicts, through a cleverly constructed deception, convince Susy that the
police have implicated Sam in the woman's murder, and the doll, which she
believes is the key to his innocence, is evidence. She refuses to reveal its
location, and with the help of a young neighbor, figures out she is the victim
of a bizarre charade. But when Roat's sinister actions begin to escalate, a
deadly game of cat and mouse ensues. BACK

Pvt. Wars
by James McLure
BRAVO! Army Theatre Touring
Company
July 29 & 30,
2005
A dramatic story
of three soldiers recovering from war injuries at an Army hospital. Comprised
of a series of black out scenes, although humorous at times, this poignant play
blends these into a mosaic as the three tease, torment, entertain, exasperate
and, on occasion, solace each other – maintaining throughout a hilarity which
belies their deep concern about the uncertainties of the civilian world to which
they will soon be returning. While moments of humor move you through their
relationships that have formed, the deeper and emotional struggles of each one
becomes clearer not only to us, but to themselves.
This play is recommended for mature audiences, as it deals with the
realities of war and the consequences it sometimes brings to the emotional
state of those involved.
